The Costa Blanca encompasses the area of the Mediterranean from Valencia in the northern most tip right down to the Mar Menor – just north of Cartagena and about 20 miles south of Alicante. There are three distinct golfing areas; The Northern region contains fewer courses but La Sella is a highlight here, along with two-course complex at Villaitana Benidorm. The Central region has much more choice, all within 30 minutes of Alicante airport. Bonalba is a tidy, well established course as is Alicante Golf itself. The highlight of the region is probably La Finca golf, but the choice and quality is generally good for a region that has cheaper green fees on offer. The Southern region, and the proximity to Murcia, offers in excess of 30 courses within close vicinity of Torrevieja, which is very well known with the British market. It is, however, an area more suited for parties of male golfers rather than couples. Lo Romero is one new addition of note, which for around 45€, is a gem in the making.
