The Golf Club at Bridgewater
Lakeland, Florida
General Information
Bridgewater is located about 45 minutes from the Orlando attractions area in Lakeland, which is on the way to Tampa. BRIDGEWATER OFFICIALLY OPENED IN SEPTEMBER 2007 AND WAS RECOGNIZED BY GOLF WEEK AS ONE OF THE `TOP 100 COURSES YOU CAN PLAY" IN 2008. It is a semi-private club with championship golf, in a beautiful setting, with a 19th hole to celebrate, good location, moderate price, and “just golf” are a few of the many reasons to experience Bridgewater. The golf course is 18-holes with no homes. Escape to the isolation of just you, fairways and greens.
The Golf Club at Bridgewater is an exciting resort-style golf course that saw its grand opening in the fall 2006. This Steve Smyers design boasts over 7,200 yards with a layout truly unique to Central Florida. Smyers has a reputation of qualify golf courses including Old Memorial-Tampa; Southern Dunes-Haines City; and Marriott’s Grand Pines-Orlando. What the designer says about this course, "Here, the less experienced or less accomplished player always has a route to play. We never force a shot on them, and we always give the weaker player an alternate route. That route is less risk and less reward. But if the golfer plays to his or her capabilities, there's a route or avenue for them to shoot to their handicap or better on this golf course. It's more of a strategic golf course than a penal golf course. It's all about managing yourself."

Real Player Reviews
Reviewed by: Mike Dribnack Comments: New course-needs some aging-will be a good track in a few years-good layout-needs a new club house-but I am sure this will come with time
Reviewed by: Donald Boucher Comments: Very nice course - challenging - traps are deadly (you don't want to be in them, especially around the green) - will be a great course when it "grows up."
